Keyword : the location of the breech, mother’s age, parity, low birth weight, and gestational age

According to the World Health Organization (WHO, 2015)The infant mortality rate in the breech is

higher when compared to the head. Perinatal mortality rate with the delivery of a breech presentation has

a percentage of 16.8-38,5% in Indonesia.

This study aims to determine the Factors related to the breech location in maternal birth at the Berkah

Pandeglang General Hospital in 2018.

This study used an analytic survey research with a cross sectional design (10%), with a population of

2,727 maternal and a total sample of 96 mothers, this sampling was simple random (Simple Random

Sampling) and the data collection technique used secondary data. In this study, the variables used were

maternal age, parity, birth weight and gestational age analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis.

Based on the results of the research showing the results of univariate analysis on maternity mothers

who do not experience the majority of the mother aged 20-35 years as much as 74 maternity mothers

(77.1%), majority in Multipara parity and grandemultipara as much as 64 maternity mothers (66.7%), the

majority at birth weight of 2500-4000 grams as much as 62 of maternity mothers (64.6%), the majority at

a pregnancy age of 37-41 weeks as much as 82 maternity mothers (85.4%). While the results of bivariate

analysis indicates there is a relationship between the gestational age with the location of the breech with

the value (P=0.035), there is no relationship between the age of the mother with the incidence of breech

location with the value (P= 0.537), there is no link between the parity with the breech location of the value

(P= 0.170) and there is no relationship between birth weight with the occurrence of a breech location with

a value (P = 0.950).

It is expected for health staff of BerkahPandeglang to provide counseling to pregnant women at the

time of the ANC about the location of the breech and give counseling how to cope with pregnant breech

namely by prostrate (knee chest position.
